Best Cash Registers for Liquor Stores

There are several good cash registers from SAM4s and Sharp that are great for Liquor stores however one stands out. The SAM4s SPS-520R and SPS-530R both are the best Liquor Store Cash Register on the market today.

With the abilty for a large PLU file, a keyboard port for programming or optional software, SD port for back up and transfers, barcode scanner port and more make this machin the best choice.

SOrry for doing is this way but I can not figure out how to post my own question!!!

The place I work recently aquired 17 Sharp Er-A530 cash registers from someone. I was programming them last night but keep getting at Memory Full message when programming the names on Program 2. The people that had it before us had a lot of information on them and we would like to erase what they had and start fresh.

How can I do that??? Any help would be GREAT!!!!

Thank you!

Im not sure exactly what u mean bu job code. We put the key yo prgram 1 and put in the pruces we need for the buttons we are planning to use. Then we turn the key to program 2 and put in the names of the items. While putting in the names we keep getting a memory full message and then we can not do anything else. Since we are not useing all the keys like the previous user we wanted to take off the old info they had stored so hopefully there is enough memory.

Are you putting in too many characters? What name are your trying to program in as an example? Does the price programming you are doing work OK?

I know the limit of charcters for each is 16, so everything has been below that. It is for a concession stand so its things like hot dog, nachos ect. The price programming all worked perfect. We used the 1210.@button#.price method and had no problems. For the names we are doing the 2114.@button#.name. (I'm trying to rememebr the code off the top of my head but it is close to that.) We onyl get the Memory Full message when doing the names.

Try the Job Based programming instead found on page 118 of the manual. I always you the job based rather then the direct. Then use the Alpha overlay for the register which you can find on page 77 of the manual. If the PLU already exist as it sounds it does it should allow the label to be changed. So try it this way and let me know. I assume you have the manual?

Sharp ER-A530 Cash Register

Hi Dave, need help as well please. Thank you for making this blog/your expertise available.

I have a Sharp ER-A530. A "miscellaneous tax" key was programmed into dept. #78 (set at 9.75%) which we use to "ring up" all of our transactions manually. I negligently erased the tax rate from it where it now only charges w/out tax.

What I did was set all tax rates(1-4) at 9.75% (using code 2711) but when I attempt to assign tax rate 1 (000001) to that dept (#78), the error message "MEMORY FULL" pops up.

I presume I need to first erase the memory in dept # 78, then will be able assign tax rate 1 to that key. How do I do this? or do you have a different/better solution?

Thank you!

OK I think you are trying to program Dept# 78 and it may be PLU #78 which would require no memory. Dept. 78 would require memory allocation if it can even have that many.

Check that item and see if a PLU or really a department. There is nothing to do with clearing memory for what you are talking about.

There are program reading reports you can take to try and nail down which you are using if you don't know.

What job code were you using when programming the dept?

Hey, guys
I hope that somebody can help me with this
I recently purchased er a530 for the store and trying to program it. I can only punch in 10 departments ans when im trying to do the 11th it says "memory full". It manual it only mentions that up to 99 departments can be used but there is 10 standard. How do i go over 10?

Art, the Sharp ER-A530 cash register can in fact have 99 departments however comes out of the box with either 10 or 20 (sounds like 10 in your case) You would have to have the sharp service key to increase that number. You machine is set up for 10. No that does not mean the PLU's which is what people use on that machine. You may have a 100 or more PLU's. Hope that helps. If you need to order a service key (they don't come with machines) 1-800-863-2274 $20.00 I think plus shipping
