If you did not buy your machine from us and you require help with it we offer programming SAM4s cash registers over the phone. Many of the higher end models feature and SD card or USB port and we can program a machine in our office, copy the program to SD or USB flash drive and mail you your new program.

The SAM4s ER-290 cash registers are almost gone

The SAM4s ER-290 is a nice entry level cash register, however the factory is no longer going to produce them. We have a few more in stock and then they will be gone forever. SAM4s has several good models to replace the ER-290 including the following models

• SAM4s ER-265 (different keyboard then the 290)
• SAM4s ER-285M (also different keyboard then the 290)
• SAM4s ER-380 (very close to the ER-290 with same style keyboard)

And there are several others depending on budget and required features. Keep in mind the ER-290 was an entry level machines so it did lack features like credit card interface, PC interface and a few others.

Understanding how to reprogram a Datacap Twin Tran

Most cash registers that interface to credit card payments use a Datacap Twin Tran, IPTran, or Dial Tran. If you need to have your new merchant services programmed into your Datacap we can help. First you will need to decide on which merchant services company you want to go with. We have several good companies we work with all the time if you need a reference. If you already know who you are going to use you can call us with a couple pieces of information.

• The Serial Number of the Datacap Twin Tran (or Tran product you have)
• The Var Sheet from your merchant services
• Make and model of cash register you will be connecting to
• How many cash registers you will be connecting to.

There are a few things we will need answered in order to process the order and get your Datacap reprogrammed. Here are some things that should be answered

• Do you accept Tips?
• Do you accept EBT
• Do you accept PIN based debit transactions?

All these items are very important when selecting the platform your Datacap device should be programmed with.

Now a few environmental issues to figure out

• Do you want to use a High Speed IP connection
• Do you want to use a dial up connection
• Would you like to use both?
• If IP can you run a patch cable from Datacap device to router?
