Hi Dave,
Do you know how to program the texas tax rate 7.25% into a Sharp ER-A440? Do I need to make up a tax table and find the minimum break points? If so I have found them but I'm confused by the first .11 cents because it is actually .06=.01. I have the cycle as 13,14,14,14. Any help would be appreciated I'm a new business owner.

Hi, well it depends on your state and I don't know what TX requires. However I doubt it requires a table. Most states just use a simple percent. To program 7.25% into a Sharp ER-A440 with everything above $0.01 taxed on a taxable sale do the following.

Key to PGM 2
enter 2711
press . (decimal)
press @/FOR
enter 1
press @/FOR
enter 72500
press @/FOR
enter 1
press CA/AT (cash)

Again that set Tax Rate 1 to 7.25% with anything over a penny in a taxable sale being taxed.

Remember this does not make your items taxable. You still must make depts and plu's taxable.

Please do a test sale and make sure the tax rate programmed worked. And by the way this is free info so there is no warranty and you do this at your own risk. When in doubt hire a pro!

Good Luck

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the Info. I have programmed it in and tested, works perfect.Instead of adding 72500 I entered 7.25. I have programmed everytning else myself. thanks for your input. I was making it more complicated than need be.

thanks again especially for the quick response.

HI Dave,

I really appreciate your site.
I have a Sharp UP700 with out a computer server. I am trying to have each user have a code for this machine but I can't seem to get the register to save the code.
Could you tell me how to program a code and save it, then open up so the register will be open for business.
thanks
john

John, please tell me what steps you are taking to program the server codes? And what happens when you try to use the code? What buttons are you using?

I am getting a reg buff file lacking memory on screen. How do I fix it?

I would need a little more detail on when you get the error. It could be that you are ringing a lot of items in one transaction and it will in fact fill the keybaord buffer up and stop the transaction. I don't recall the number but lets say a transaction could have 50 items as soon as you ring up the 51st it will stop. Also guest checks have an item limit as well. Anyway more detail and maybe I can help. Don't forget check here if you need a NEW Sharp Cash Register
