My goal with this blog is to offer advice on buying or fixing a cash registers and POS systems. Selling and servicing cash registers and POS systems is what I do for a living, and I hope by offering some free advice I might gain a few customers and friends along the way.
I have an error on a er-2368s. Every time I enter a number on the key pad, an E comes up in the Dept screen. We have a show tomorrow and are trying to get rid if this error.

So I assume that is a ER-2386S? Well you did not provide enough info but here are a couple guesses.
ReplyDelete1. That is a very old machine. Has it been unplugged for awhile? The battery could be dead so it has lost its program.
2. Is the cash drawer closed before you start a transaction?
3.Is the key in R or Reg?
4. Did you not finish a transaction or function before this? Look at the audit tape and make sure.
5. Is the date and time way off? If so look at reason #1

Please provide a little more detail. There are several ways to remove tax from an item. It can be programmed of course or you can use a tax shift function on a per sale basis. So tell me what you are trying to do and we will see if we can help.
